1/ Why the ocean freight from Vietnam to the main seaport in Europe is too high?

• Due to shortage of space for export service cargo from Vietnam to Europe, all carriers surcharge the peak season fee and add more the premium rate for securing the space. So the peak season surcharge (PSS) was added on the ocean freight of all carriers such as EVERGREEN- EMC / HUYNDAI- HMM/ CMA- CMG/ ONE/ COSCO/ MAERSK/MSC LINE.  That’s why the FCL shipment by sea is quite expensive in this year

2/ When the peak season surcharge is applied by carriers?

• Before 2020, the peak season is applied on the end of year from October to December but currently, the peak season is applied for hold year and the amount of peak season fee will be different based on each month.
• From 15 June, the peak season surcharge will be applied much higher than before

3/ How much is the peak season surcharge from 15 June 2021 until further notice?

• The peak season surcharge is from 300usd/20DC& 600usd/40DC& HC.
