Vietnam was India’s fourth largest supplier of rubber during the first three quarters of this year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Agency of Foreign Trade.

Rubber originating from Vietnam accounted for around 8 percent of India’s imports, up from 7.7 percent one year ago, data from India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry shows. 

When it comes to natural rubber, Vietnam ranked second among exporters to India, accounting for 19 percent of the market share, compared to 17.3 percent in the same period last year. From January to September, Vietnam shipped to the Indian market some 67,870 tonnes of natural rubber for over 129.2 million USD, up 44.8 percent in volume and 89.6 percent in value. 1. Export procedure of rubber from VietNam to India

According to the current regulation, Rubber is not in the List of prohibited Exports from Vietnam to India, so the enterprise can do the export procedure pursuant to current stipulations. Rubber is not subject to specialized management.

–          By Air Freight

Air freight from India to Vietnam is significantly faster than ocean shipping, with consignments typically taking from 2- 4 days to reach their destination. It should be noted that air freight is more expensive than shipping by sea, especially for consignments weighing 100kg or more.

Shipment by sea is suitable for heavy items with big volumes and its shipping time is slower compared to transportation by air, however, the sea freight is cheaper as well. Normally, the transit time from VietNam to India is about 15 – 40 days, depending on ship service being direct or transit.
