  1. Transit time for shipping Cargos from Vietnam to Mexico?

For air service, the transit time is very short, about 4-10 days depending on the schedule of each airline and peak season. From Vietnam to Mexico, most of the flight schedules will transit through 1 or 2 transit airports, so transit time will also fluctuate.

For FCL service, transit time is much longer, about 35-45 days depending on routes and shipping lines:

  • Transit time from Ho Chi Minh – Manzanillo: 35 days
  • Transit time from Hai Phong – Manzanillo: 30 days
  • Transit time from Ho Chi Minh – Lazaro cardenas: 35 days
  • Transit time from Hai Phong – Lazaro cardenas : 40 days

For LCL service, we have to bring the cargo to the CFS warehouse first, then they will gather the cargoes, load to the container and drop it to CY yard. Similarly, when the container arrived at the destination port, the container also needs to wait to be move into the CFS warehouse, then un-stuff it. Consignee is only able to deliver their cargo until all procedure complete and cargo ready at warehouse. Secondly, if use FCL service, the container will only discharge at the transit port and wait for the earliest next schedule. However, for LCL service, your cargo normally be unloaded from the container, and stuff into a new container and waiting for a new vessel schedule. This may cause the increasing waiting time at the transit port because there are more stages and the risk of not finding the sooner schedule, especially in the peak season. As our experience, the gap of transit time is around 7-14 days – base on each route.

In peak season, transit time is able to last longer due to tight space and congestion at all ports for both FCL and LCL service.
