According to customs data, in the first 3 months of 2022, the whole country exported 53,778 tons of pepper, equivalent to 250.8 million USD, the average price was 4,663.6 USD/ton, down 12.7% in volume but up 39.3% in turnover and 59.6% in price over the same period in 2021. Vietnam is the biggest source of cashew for many demanding markets such as USA, EU. So how to export this good from Vietnam?

Vietnam is owned by one of the countries with the largest cashew nut export companies in the world. major cashew nut export brands such as: Duy Linh, Long Son, My Viet, Hanfimex, Hong Loi Thinh,…almost factories located In the south of Vietnam. therefore, cashew is usually exported from Ho chi minh and Qui Nhon port.

Cashew is not on the list of goods banned from export, so we can export this item. But since Cashew is a product of plant origin, we need to do a Phytosanitary Certificate for each export shipment.

DELIVERY CASHEWS FROM VIETNAM TO US

The US is Vietnam’s largest cashew nut export market, and the export volume of this item by sea and by air is very large. According to air freight, this is the fastest option, with transit times as short as two days. It will be the best option for urgent cargo, cargo with small volume of require special condition for delivery. Your consignment will be subject to customs and security checks, which lengthens the overall travel time. Freight is much expensive than sea also.

For ocean line, this may be better option due to cheaper freight and comfortable for more types of commodity. Shipping by sea line can use container 20 and 40, but if your cargo is smaller, LCL service is more economical method. However, ocean service has transit time much longer than air service.

With transit service, our cargo will discharge at transit port, then load into other vessel ( mother vessel) to port of discharging. Transit port may be: China ports ( Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha,…), Kaohsiung, Hongkong, Singapore, Busan,… Normally, direct service will be better with short transit time and less risk.
