Certificate of origin (CO) is one of important documentation for export-import shipment, related to the promotion of tax. Each trading partner of Vietnam will have its own regulations on documents in general and CO in particular. The EU is one of Vietnam’s major trading partners, with the introduction of the EVFTA, two-way trade has been further expanded. CO form EUR.1 is applied for cargo from Vietnam to EU as the rule of EVFTA. 1. What is CO

Certificate of origin is an important international trade document that certifies that goods in a particular export shipment are wholly obtained, produced, manufactured or processed in a particular country.

2. Who issue CO in Vietnam

In Vietnam, there are 2 organizations that can issue CO:

–           For CO form A and B: Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)

–           For the other Form: Import and Export Management Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade
