The entry into force of the EVFTA promoted trade between Vietnam and EU. Trade relations between Vietnam – EU have developed very quickly and effectively; two-way turnover increased more than 12 times from 4.1 billion USD in 2000 to nearly 50 billion USD in 2021; in which Vietnam’s exports to the EU increased by nearly 13 times from 2.8 billion USD to 35.1 billion USD in 2020. In 2021, Vietnam continues to be a surplus exporter to the EU market with a trade surplus of 29,307, 1 million USD. Vietnam export to many markets in EU, but three countries that Vietnam export most are Netherlands, Germany, France.

1. Netherlands

Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and the Netherlands still increased by 1.5% compared to 2019, to $ 7.7 billion thanks to a breakthrough in the period from August 2020 – the time after the EVFTA took effect.

Vietnam’s exports to the Netherlands market are mostly products of the processing industry group. The main export items of Vietnam to the Netherlands include computers, electronic products and components; spare parts machinery and equipment; phones and accessories, shoes, textiles, cashew nuts; bags, wallets, suitcases, hats, umbrellas, umbrellas… Besides, the Netherlands is the largest export market for Vietnam’s cashew nuts, vegetables and seafood

The total two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Germany in 2021 will reach over 11.13 billion USD, of which, exports to Germany will be over 7.25 billion USD, up 9.1% compared to 2020

According to data of Trade map ITC in 2021, there are some main export items such as: fresh and processed vegetables (23.1 billion USD), tea – coffee – spices (4 billion USD), processed seafood (1.65 billion USD), honey (274 million USD, …In addition, machinery, electrical and mechanical equipment, shoes, clothing, leather goods, coffee, fruit, and furniture are also the main export items of Vietnam to Germany.
