EXPORTING FROZEN CLAM FROM VIETNAM TO EU
According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the EU is the largest import market for Vietnam’s bivalve molluscs, accounting for 62% of Vietnam’s total export value of this item to Vietnam, and Italy, Spain and Portugal are the three single largest importers of Vietnamese bivalve molluscs in the EU. clams are not in export banned list, however, the exporter need to have export code, then make Health Certificate. Besides, they also must provide relevant animal health standards.
Besides, normally seafood need to be keep frozen or temperature control to avoid damage. Therefore, they are delivered by refrigerated cargo.

For air service, transit time is so short. It takes around 4-7 days to delivery from Vietnam to EU and will transit via 1 or 2 airports. This service will be suitable for urgent shipment, sample cargo in small quantity. For clams, delivery cargo by air is also very common, as clams often require quick transportation to avoid damage as well as low temperature requirements.
For ocean service, the transit time will be much longer, about 25 to 40 days depending on the port and line’s service. Although it takes a long time to ship, but sea mode is more cost-effective than air mode and can delivery large quantities, so it is the most popular method. Shipping by sea also has a cold service, requires detailed temperature, so it can transport clams as well as other sea food goods.
